"Look Within" Entries Due Dec. 12th, 2019 

Little Cedars is participating in the WSPTA Reflections contest this year. Entry forms can be found at the school on the Reflections bulletin board (right outside the office), or can be printed from the PTA website links below.

 

Look Within 2019-20 Reflections Theme

To enter:

1. Download the packet for the category your student is interested in entering (below). 

2. Provide art materials to your child. Please read through your category rules before buying new materials, as there are size and format limits. 

3. Stand back and let your child create their artwork on their own. Entries should relate to this year's theme, "Look Within."

4. Prepare the artwork based on the category rules. For example, literature submissions should be 1-sided and not stapled; drawings, paintings & photos should be mounted on a stiff matboard, foam core, cardboard, or canvas panel board. 

5. Fill out the entry form, and have your child  write their short Artist Statement. 

6. Submit entry by December 12th to the Little Cedars front office, or to Emily Ulmer at programs@littlecedarspta.org if the submission is in the form of a video.

About Reflections

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.

Students create original works of art in response to a theme. The theme for the 2019-2020 program year is Look Within

A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas are:

Participation is organized by student age and grade levels. Student works are critiqued against others in the same grade division.

Finalists from Little Cedars will move on to the state round. Washington State PTA finalists who receive an “Outstanding Interpretation” award will advance to the National PTA round. National PTA Reflections awards can be found here.

PLEASE SUBMIT ALL PROJECTS TO SCHOOL BY DECEMBER 12, 2019.
