School Supply Kits are available for sale in the Spring. You no longer have to run from store to store during your summer vacation looking for school supplies. Now with just a click of your mouse you can order next year's supplies and have them delivered right to the school. Along with the supplies you can order backpacks, lunch bags, water bottles and much more.

An event for all incoming Kindergarteners and new families at LCE before the school year begins. This is a great event for our new students to meet other students, as well as our new parents to get to know other new parents.

Families will be divided into two sessions to minimize the crowded parking situation.
• Students with last names A-M are invited to meet their teachers from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
• Student with last name N-Z are invited from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m.

Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies, so that they can be put away in desks and are ready for the first day of school. A school bus will be on site for our younger students to visit.

Each year a student directory is printed and distributed to each family at Little Cedars. The directory is a great way to get in touch with other families in the LCE community. The Chair of this program creates the Directory, coordinates printing and timely distribution to all LCE Families.

This committee plans & coordinates the meals for our staff & teachers during conference week in October and March as well as Staff Appreciation meals & activities during first week in May. They will set up a sign-up list for volunteers to bring in food and oversee the setup of this.

Our annual Father Daughter dance, a special red carpet event sponsored by WatchDOGS. The stars are coming out....so come walk the red carpet with us. Stars may be escorted by Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Caregiver or any other special person. The dress is formal/business casual. If you have children in both grade groups, please choose one date to attend. Carpooling will benefit everyone! Additional parking available at Glacier Peak HS.

A wonderful day the students get to spend with their Grandparents. Join us in the morning for coffee and cookies and then accompany your Grandkids to their classroom where you can learn with them for part of the morning. This truly is a highlight of the year for our students!

The all time favorite Holiday Affair is back this year. Bake sale, games, and arts & crafts will make this a night for the family! For a very small fee, you can make Holiday gifts to send to the Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, anyone you want! We will need volunteers to help set up, clean up, prep the crafts, help with the bake sale, etc.

Family Skate night is Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Everett Skate Deck from 6:30-8:30 pm. Please note: This is a family event! Adults MUST remain at the Skate Deck with their students. Drop-off is not allowed.
Talent Show

An evening of great talent from Little Cedars students. Students audition their "acts" they will showcase in the talent show.

This year's show will take place on March 3rd. Rehearsals begin two weeks prior. Volunteers are needed to help schedule acts, publicize and advertise the event and the rehearsals, setup and cleanup of the big night as well as keeping the "acts in waiting" entertained.

Each Thursday, the smell of declicious popcorn is in the air! Students can purchase popcorn for 25 cents, so just "pop" on over to the popcorn poppers at recess and enjoy a bag. The popcorn committee are responsible for making and selling popcorn to students during lunch recess on Thursdays. The chair of this committee is responsible for coordinating parent volunteers on the committee. They are also responsible for ordering the popcorn, preparing and communicating the weekly schedule, training the committee, collecting funds and giving them to the PTA treasurer.

This committee produces an annual Little Cedars' yearbook available for purchase by students and staff, and delivered in June. The chairs and committee work to plan and design the yearbook. The yearbook features every class, specialist, and school group. It also highlights other activities that occur during the school year. Several volunteers who are comfortable with a camera are needed to photograph various school-wide and grade-level activities throughout the year.

Ready to travel the globe? Families are encouraged to research their heritage and work with their families on bringing something to share with their fellow students and community! Have a fun game to share? Bring it and teach others how to play! Love making a traditional recipe with grandma? Make a few extra servings and get ready to delight! Have costumes or traditional dress that really shows your culture? How about a song or music to perform? This is the night to show off our diversity and share our cultures.

Little Cedar's annual Science Fair is on March 15th in the Multi Purpose Room.

Students are encouraged to create a science project to display during the school day and at night.

Volunteers are needed for advertising and publications, student signup, placement and awards, as well as general setup and takedown.

The Little Cedars PTA Spelling Bee is a fun event open to all 4th-6th grade students, where kids get a chance to show off their oral spelling ability in front of an audience.

Art Docents

Classroom volunteers teach a specific artist or painting and lead the children in an art project once a month. Projects are displayed in the hallway monthly and then at the Celebration of the Arts at the end of the year. Celebration of the Arts usually takes place one evening in May celebrating the Art Docent program and highlighting the students' art work. Volunteers will help set up and clean up that evening and work with the Art Docent coordinators as needed.

1st & 3rd Wednesday of each Month

Lego Club is a cherished and highly attended club at Little Cedars! The meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoons from when school gets out (2:50pm) until 3:50pm. The Club Chair(s) are onsite from approximately 2:40pm to around 4:10pm for setup and teardown. The meetings are held in the sky bridge between the lunch room and the 2nd floor classroom run.

Reflections Program

The National PTA's Reflections program encourages students in pre-K through grade 12 to explore and be involved in the arts. The theme for the 2016-2017 school year is "What Is Your Story?"... Thousands of students will reflect on the theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, music composition, literature, photography and visual arts. The Science Lab is a PTA funded, parent volunteer run program with the purpose to engage all level of students and encourage curiosity of the scientific process. Labs are pre-planned. No experience is needed to volunteer and many parents / guardians are able to volunteer during lunch hours. The students enjoy having parents / guardians run the lab.

Each one is worth 10 cents for our school which will be used for educational items, programs and events! Wolverine Spirit Wear is sold in the Fall and typically again in the late Winter/early Spring. The chair for Wolverine Spirit Wear helps coordinate the products for ordering and works with our vendor for ordering and screen printing needs. Online ordering and deadlines are provided and advertised when orders are being taken, so keep an eye out for information in the "Wolverine Weekly"! Show your Wolverine pride!
