Welcome to the Little Cedars 2010 Family Science Fair Website!

This site will give you some ideas for projects and help you understand how to perform an experiment. Please let us know if there is any additional information or links we can add that may help other students and parents. Thanks and good luck!

What you need to do:

Step 1: Read About the Different Project Types

Learn about the different kinds of project by clicking on the “Project Types” link at the left, and think about which you would like to do. If you’re considering doing an experiment, click on the "Scientific Method" link to understand the steps involved in performing a scientific experiment.

Step 2: Choose a Project

We have a list of ideas for K through 3rd Grade and for 4th through 6th Grade to get you started thinking about an idea. The Science Buddies website has a long list of possible projects, as well as a "topic selection wizard" to help you choose a subject area that's interesting to you. Make sure you read the safety guide too.

Step 3: Fill in the Registration Form

Print out the Registration Form (can be found in the Registration Packet) and return it to the office by March 11th to insure we have an accurate headcount of participants and enough time to order boards and awards. Poster Boards will be available for pick up during parent conference week.

Step 4: Do your project and present it

Prepare a poster board describing your project and come to the Science Fair.

If you have questions feel free to contact Traci Portugal, Science Fair Chair, at traciportugal@comcast.net.
Don't Panic:

The science fair is a great chance for grown ups and kids to experiment, learn and have fun together. It is the journey that you take and the adventures that you have on the way that are important. And if you make mistakes, that's the best way to learn.
