   TALENT SHOW INFORMATION

Dear LCE Parents,

        It is time to start preparing for the LCE Talent Show!!! Mark your calendars for FEBRUARY 2010.  We will have Auditions, Dress Rehearsals, Morning Assemblies, and then a Final Show on Fri., Feb 26th at 7pm. (Please note that we separate in two groups, K-3 and 4-6, for Rehearsals and Assemblies.  They only perform together for the Final Show.  If you are thinking of doing a ‘group act’, the participants all need to be within the same grade grouping.)

If your child is interested in performing in this year’s show, please fill out the attached “Intent to Participate/Parent Permission” Form and return it to us by DECEMBER 18TH.  You can either scan it and email it to me at aimspen@verizon.net or turn it into the office, attn: Aimee Oliver.

This”Intent to Participate” form is for you, as a parent, to fill out, not your child.  We will be sending out an Audition form in a few weeks for you to help your child fill out describing their individual/group act.  As this is an after-school activity, this form provides us with important contact information to efficiently communicate with you about Audition, Rehearsal,and Show times and  their possible changes, and also in case there is an emergency.

We want to impress upon you that your involvement in your child’s act is extremely important!   OUR GOAL IS FOR EVERYONE WHO AUDITIONS TO BE ABLE TO PERFORM AND FOR THAT TO BE A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE!  There are some criteria, though, that MUST be met:

  1.     Any words/lyrics used in any way in an act must be attached to the Audition form to be approved as “appropriate” for a K-6 grade audience.

  2.      Acts need to be “performance ready” AT the audition and UNDER 2 min.  We love to help ‘tweak’ a performance or give a little advice, but we cannot help create an act at the audition.  We want to help your child present themselves at their best!

  3.  Children must be prepared to treat all Students and Parent Volunteers with respect and courtesy.

YOUR INVOLVEMENT CAN MAKE THESE THINGS POSSIBLE AND MAKE THIS PROCESS RUN SMOOTHLY!

 

  1. Please fill out the attached form and Return it by December 18th!!

  2. **We must have this SIGNED  “Intent/Permission” Form to be able to assign your child an Audition Time***

Watch D.O.G.S.
Little Cedars Elementary and the PTA are excited to announce the launching of the Watch D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) program this fall. WATCH D.O.G.S. is the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering that involves fathers and father figures to help create a more safe and secure learning environment in our schools.

Who are Watch D.O.G.S.? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day each year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.
