Take Action Regarding HB 2282: Identifying African American Studies Curricula

On Monday, January 15th, at 1:30 PM the House Education Committee will hear public testimony on HB 2282, a bill that would create a list of approved African American Studies curricula for optional use in grades 7-12.

The Washington State PTA supports this bill stating HB 2282 will give our school districts the option of selecting from a range of current African American Studies curricula from across the country that would have a positive impact on the identity, self-worth, academic engagement, and sense of belonging of African American students.
